Watch the 4x multiplication videos. Start by hitting the link below. Scroll down a bit to play the video. Then hit the navy blue button beside the video that says "next" to watch the next video.
In the back of your math notebook, write the 2 times table in a column. Leave 2 spaces beside and then write the 4 times table in a column. It should look this (with all the answers filled in, and going all the way to 10x2 and 10x4).
Compare the answers. See how the answers in the 4 times table are double the answers in the 2 times table? 3x2=6. 6+6=12. Is that what 3x4 equals? Yes! So to find 8x4, we could double 8x2! 8x2=16, 16+16=32. Are we right? Skate (8) x Door (4) = Dirty U (32). We're right!
Watch the video below. Then in your math photocopying do p.136. Look out for the sneaky questions that want you to add, subtract or multiply tallies to get the answer! Send me p.136.
Today we are going to practice working with bar graphs. You can find the pages you need in the sheets handed out in your math book. You will need pages 7, 9, and 11.
Take a good look at how graphs are set up. They all have straight vertical and horizontal lines. They have a title, so we know what they are about. They also have labels, one on the side, and one on the bottom, this way the reader (us) knows what the words or numbers are all about. We have to remember these things when we get around to drawing our own graphs.
Happy working on the pages, let me know if there are questions.
Mrs. Kamphuis sent a link for the chapters of Charlotte's Web. Here it is once more.

Like at school, you can choose what order to do these in, so long as you do them all!
Grab a good book and your Whisper Phone. Whisper read for 14 minutes in a cozy spot.
Some of you told me that your ear gets sore when you use the phone. Try holding the phone a little bit away from your ear. The sound should still blast out!
When you're done, write a complete sentence answer for today's question on the "Complete Sentence Answer Practise" page. You should be starting on the 2nd side of the page today!
Contractions. Remember that word? It's in the Homophones song. Say it to find it back.
Contractions happen when you combine two words by dropping a letter. You put an apostrophe in where the letters dropped out.
Work for 15 minutes in your Phonics book on p.93-96. Remember to do all the pages between, too. On p.96 you only need to do the top of the page. You have today and Wednesday (and Ketchup on Friday) to get it all done.
Remember to read the Rules in the green boxes, and ALL instructions in the yellow rectangles.
Remember the old guy who sang Science songs? Here's his contraction song if you'd like something fun to listen to. (totally optional)
Today we're writing diamante poems.
Watch the video then do the whole page with a cat and dog in your poetry sheets. Send me a picture.

Today’s story is about Solomon’s splendour. (lesson 5) Splendour is a nice word that describes riches, power and glory. This story tries to do that. I have also posted the answer key to lesson 4 a bit further down.
I have emailed the answer key to the Arctic map Friday afternoon. Our assignment for today is to try and fill in what we know about the Arctic on our worksheet. If you are stuck, skip to the next questions. (green binder) Tomorrow we will check the answers.
